Muybridges's books were important reference tools for artists and other creatives. This copy was owned by the artist Studios of Stanford Briggs Inc.(Research Department), and it likely met with extensive use there, culminating in its current condition. Though worn and missing plates, it is an excellent choice for those seeking a cheaper copy of this masterwork on motion or those seeking an art project using the remaining plates.
CONDITION: Poor condition, back board detached, front board barely attached, spine cloth cover absent, front and back boards with lacks and other damages, corners bumped; text block is still mostly intact, though loose and splitting, many pages loose and some missing, paper flaking. Missing plates/pages: 17, 31, 35, 53, 63, 65, 67, 75, 89, 127, 175, 177, 179, 215, 223, 225, 237, 243, 245, 247, 249, 265.
