Rare vellum bound, 17th-century copy of the famous prophetic French quatrains by Nostradamus. Published by Jean Ribou in Paris, 1668. Bound with soft vellum boards. Frontispiece title engraving entitled "La mort du Roy d'Angleterre, et l'incendie de Londres." Woodcut printer's device on full title page. Includes 7-page biography, La Vie de Maistre Michel Nostradamus, with full-page portrait engraving. With several woodcut initials, decorative head and tailpieces. Dedication to Henry Second, Roy de France, with decorative engraved initial.
CONDITION: Good condition; soft vellum cover in very good condition, with some issues. Worming from page 128 to the free endpaper, with some words obscured; inked hand-written marginalia throughout, including on front and endpapers. The hinge is cracked at the front and back at the top, the headband is broken, some pages are slightly loose, and the front free endpaper is missing. Light foxing, stains, corner and edge wear.
