Deck: Le Jeu du Destin Antique
Description: Le Jeu du Destin Antique is a French, 32-card fortune-telling deck. The deck was first published in 1868 by Grimaud, alongside a booklet entitled: “Le destin antique rétabli d'après les anciens manuscrits chaldaïques, syriaques et autres : avec une introduction historique sur le jeu de cartes," by Eugène d'Auriac. The original booklet and early deck can be found at the Bibliothéque Nationale de France (BnF). The deck sold here is an early 20th-century edition with a box and without a booklet.

CONDITION: Very good condition, 32/32 cards complete, with box. There are very few signs of wear on the front of cards, backs/versos are scuffed and stained, and cards have edge and corner wear. Telescopic box has both sleeves, with edge and corner wear; chips and wear to label; bottom tab of outer sleeve, broken but attached.
