DESCRIPTION:
This Besançon design was originally published by J. Jerger in 1801 and subsequently by Renault in 1845, with Juno and Jupiter replacing Le Pape and La Papesse. This beautiful deck is woodcut and stencil-painted on laid paper (chain lines visible), and incomplete with 77 of 78 cards, missing Jupiter (trump/major arcanum 5).

CONDITION: Good condition; incomplete with 77 of 78 cards, missing Jupiter (trump/major arcanum 5), with numerical annotations, and some with written annotations at the top margin in black ink, signs of wear and a slight warp to the deck. The cards are somewhat darkened from use. Incomplete, with 77 of 78 cards, missing Jupiter (Trump/Arcanum #5).
