Lenormand. Les Souvenirs Prophétiques d'une Sibylle, sur les causes secrètes de son arrestation, le 11 décembre 1809. Paris: 18141st Edition, 8to, pp. ix, 596 (p.596 printed as 196, misnumbering begins at 194): Frontispiece; 22 cm, missing half-title with author statement of legitimacy on verso, and where is sometimes found Lenormand's signature of authentication, it is replaced with hand-written title page; frontispiece engraving of Mlle Lenormand and original title-page intact. 

The notations and corrections made throughout the book reveal the intensity of a previous owner's study. This history of use is worthy of study in and of itself. CONDITION Very Good condition. Text block split at two locations, binding still tight; boards with some rubbing and other issues; notations in pencil and ink on front and back endpapers; notations in old ink and hand also found throughout the text as notations, reference, and corrections; foxing and some staining throughout. pp. ix, 196 [i.e. 596]; 22 cm, missing half-title with edition legitimacy statement on verso, where  Lenormand's signature is sometimes found.
