DESCRIPTION: 

8mo. Hard Cover. Very Good Condition. Half-calf with marbled boards. Beautifully bound copies of Thomas Babington Macaulay’s “History of England” volumes 4 and 5. Books feature very interesting green, blue and gold marbling patterns on the bindings and endpapers. Spines are a soft brown leather with gold-gilt decoration, bands, and lettering. Volume IV with front engraved portrait of Loius XIV, volume 5 with front portrait of Queen Anne. Both volumes illustrated with engravings throughout. Undated but likely late 19th century. 

CONDITION: Overall, in very good condition. Some scuffing on spine and bindings. Bindings are tight and secure. All pages intact. Some fading of the marbling but bright colors shine through. Corners bumped with some leather peeling, but still hold form. Some page corners creased or folded. Endpapers are bright and saturated in color.
